Manaslu Conservation Area

Manaslu Conservation Area Manaslu Conservation Area (MCA) with an area of 1,663 km 2, covers seven Village Development Committees (VDC) of Gorkha District. They are Samagaun, Lho, Prok, Bihi, Chumchet, Chhekampar and Sirdibas. MCA with a population of over 9,000 people, is actively managed by the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation.

Bardia National Park

Bardia National Park The park is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in the Terai, predominately Sal forest which covers around 70% the remainder is a balance of mixed grassland, Savanna and Riverine forest. Since farming ceased in the Babe Valley after 1500 people were resettled, the natural vegetation is regenerating making it a prime habitat for wildlife.

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve

Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve Rapid and complete flood inundation of the reserve to depths ranging from 10 to 300cm occurs during the monsoon with Sapta Koshi River changing its course from one season to another. Vegetation is mainly tall khar-pater grassland with a few patches of khair-sissoo scrub forest and deciduous mixed reverine forest.

Parsa Wildlife Reserve

Parsa Wildlife Reserve Parsa Wildlife Reserve occupies parts of Chitwan, Makawanpur, Parsa and Bara Districts in the central Terai of Nepal. The reserve headquarters is situated at Adabar on the Hetauda-Birgunj highway. (reached by a flight to Simara then 30 mins by jeep)

Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve

Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve The royal Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve is situated in the southern part of far-western Nepal in the Kanchanpur District. (Best reached by a flight to Mahendranagar along with a short drive)

Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve

Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve Dhorpatan was previously a hunting Reserve that lies in the Rukum, Myagdi and Baglung districts along the Dhaulagiri Himal range in western Nepal 335 kms from Kathmandu. Putha, Churen and Gurjaa Himal extend over the Northern boundary of the reserve.
